Head of Steel Design (m/f/d) Your Skills
- A university degree in structural engineering, mechanical engineering, naval architecture, or a related discipline
- Several years of professional experience in steel structure design within the offshore, maritime, or energy infrastructure sector – ideally with HVDC platforms or offshore substations
- Proven leadership experience, including team management and mentoring in an engineering environment
- In-depth knowledge of structural analysis, offshore standards, and steel fabrication requirements
- Fluent German and English skills – both written and spoken – are mandatory Your Tasks
- Reporting directly to the Head of Design and Engineering
- Leading our steel engineering department
- Managing and developing a team of structural and steel design engineers (disciplinary and technical leadership)
- Responsible for the design, calculation, and detailing of steel structures for offshore converter platforms in all project phases
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant rules, codes, standards, and offshore safety regulations (e.g. DNV, Eurocode, ISO)
- Interfacing with other disciplines (e.g. electrical, mechanical, layout, project management) as well as with external stakeholders and certifiers
- Monitoring and securing progress and quality of engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets
- Driving technical innovation, process improvements, and standardization within the steel design team
